Biography

Prairie Pride!

Melissa grew up on a farm in small town Saskatchewan. All that social distancing in farm life led to many hours for music. Pass-time soon became life-long passion and she completed a Bachelor of Music in piano performance at the University of Saskatchewan (2005).

 

Melissa has completed the Performers Associate Diploma (A.R.C.T.) through the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto) in both piano performance (2006) and pipe organ (2019).​

Melissa has enjoyed sharing her love for artistic expression, musical language, and history with students in Saskatchewan, Kelowna, British Columbia, and since 2012 Winnipeg, Manitoba.

​

She has been an active collaborative musician with soloists, ensembles, and choirs for decades, and a dynamic church musician for the United, Anglican, and Lutheran Church in Saskatoon, Kelowna, and Winnipeg. now serves as Music Director at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

 

When not at the keyboard you'll find Melissa as the symphony, walking the Harte Trail in Charleswood, baking with her children, or playing in the Cambridge Coffeehouse house band with her husband.

Melissa is a teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music and a member of the Registered Music Teachers Association and the Royal Canadian College of Organists.
